FOUNDATIONS · AGES 5-8 · EATONTOWN, NJ
LAUNCH Foundations
Where movement, coordination, and a love for the game get built, alongside baseball skill, for athletes ages 5 to 8.
Program overview
Built on three things, together.
Focus, effort, handling a tough at-bat, being a good teammate: these get built alongside the baseball, from day one.
Motor Development
Coordination, balance, body control.
Athletic Development
Speed, agility, movement quality.
Baseball Skills
Throwing, hitting, and fielding, at an age-appropriate level.
How athletes are grouped
Monday and Tuesday training is one combined group for all of Foundations. Saturday teams and games are grouped by age and skill level together, not age alone. If we believe an athlete would benefit from a different group, we'll discuss it with your family before making any adjustments.
How the year works
LAUNCH stays open all year.
Foundations training runs every Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, all year, with no season where training stops. One flat monthly rate covers the whole year, so the price and the commitment stay the same no matter what the season looks like.
Everything runs indoors at LAUNCH. Saturday is a bonus practice session, every week.
Tuesday and Saturday move outdoors to Bucks Mill Park. Saturday becomes house league game day, twice a month.
Training moves back indoors at LAUNCH as daylight runs out.
House league games
Where training gets applied.
Starting in April, Saturdays include games at Bucks Mill Park, on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Games are where the week's training gets applied on the field, extending what happens in practice.
Play 9:00am – 10:15am
Play 10:30am – 11:45am, same field
Opens with a skills portion before the games begin
If an outdoor session gets cancelled, training moves indoors to LAUNCH for that day
What a week looks like
Skill-focused work: throwing mechanics, hitting fundamentals, fielding, and the coordination work that supports all of it.
Applying skills in game situations. This is where baseball IQ gets built: reading plays, situational awareness, and on-field decision-making.
A skills warm-up, then either bonus practice (winter) or house league games (April through mid-October).
Coaching
Every session maintains at least a 6:1 athlete-to-coach ratio, combining staff and trained volunteers. That's our floor. Coaches build the whole athlete: baseball mechanics, movement, focus, effort, and how an athlete handles a tough moment, all coached together.
Uniforms
Every athlete gets a new team shirt each fall, timed to when baseball age groups officially update (Labor Day weekend). Shirt color is set by age:
